Vernon Stubblefield, 78, of College Station, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2014 at the College Station Medical Center with family by his side. His family will receive guests from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. also at Callaway-Jones, with interment to follow at College Station Cemetery.
Vernon was born May 11, 1936 in Crane, Texas, to Carl and Vera Stubblefield. He has lived in this area since 1958 was the original owner of the Nissan Car Dealership. Vernon attended Brazos Valley Family Worship Center. Spending time with his grandchildren was very important to him, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Kailee Stubblefield, and his parents.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy Stubblefield of College Station; sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Deana Stubblefield of College Station, Carl Stubblefield of Bryan, Steven and Michelle Wade of North Zulch, Jon and Stacy Stubblefield of Madisonville; daughters and sons-in-law, Keri and Troy Noey of Normangee, Tonya and Chris Hayden of Kountze; brother Frank Stubblefield; sister Levena Whorton; twenty-four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed towards the Brazos Valley Family Worship Center Building Fund at 4839 N Texas Ave., Bryan, TX 77803.

I was so saddened to read about Vernon’s passing. I always enjoyed our talks when he would come by the office! He reminded me a lot of my dad – I will truly miss him!!
