On December 30th, 2021 Maria Ruiz gained her wings and is now soaring in the heavens alongside her parents. Maria was born July 22nd, 1984 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila Mexico, to parents Fernando and Maria Granado. Maria and her family immigrated to the United States in 1993, where she later went on to become a citizen. She married her high school sweetheart, Jose Ruiz, on April 18th, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas. They went on to spend 16 years of marriage together. A product, tribute, and testament of their love are their two children, Cassandra Marie Ruiz and Jose Fernando Ruiz. Maria was a gorgeous person with a beautiful heart. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross once said “The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of the depths. These people have an appreciation, a sensitivity, and an understanding of life that fills them with compassion, gentleness, and deep loving concern. Beautiful people do not just happen.” Maria was one of these beautiful people. Those of you who had the blessing of knowing her can attest to her beauty, her relentless humor, her impeccable style, her humility, and the way she loved. Maria could make a friend out of anyone, and she was a friend to everyone. How lucky are we to have known a woman so grand, so funny, and so deeply and intricately beautiful.

Maria is survived by her two sisters, Ludivina and Irma Granado. Her niece and her nephew, Alexandra and Issac. Her husband Jose Ruiz. Her children Cassandra and Jose Ruiz. And her beloved granddaughter Fernanada Ellizabetta Ruiz.

During this difficult time, Maria’s family is choosing to remember her life in a way that honors her spirit, with music, with love, and with laughter. Let us thank God for the time he allows us to borrow her. With that, her children and husband invite the community to join them in celebrating her life at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home this Tuesday, January 4th at 6 pm.

El 30th de Diciembre 2021, Maria Ruiz gano us corona y camina en la gloria junto a sus padres. María nació el 22 de julio de 1984 en Nueva Rosita, Coahuila México, a padres Fernando y María De Rosario Granado. María y su familia emigraron a los Estados Unidos en 1993. Viviendo primero en San Antonio, Texas y luego en Bryan, Texas, done ella hizo su hogar. Maria se casó con su primer amor, José Ruiz, el 18 de abril de 2005 en San Antonio, Texas. Juntos pasaron 16 años de matrimonio. Un producto, homenaje y testimonio de su gran amor son sus dos hijos, Cassandra Marie Ruiz y Jose Fernando Ruiz. María era una persona hermosa con un corazón de oro. Una vez dijeron: “Las personas más hermosas que hemos conocido son las que han vivio la derrota, el sufrimiento, la lucha, la pérdida y han encontrado la salida. Estas personas tienen aprecio, y una comprensión de la vida que los llena de compasión, gentileza y un cariño profundo. Las personas hermosas no ocurren por casualidad.” María era una de estas personas hermosas. Los que tuvieron la bendición de conocerla pueden hablar de su belleza, su humor, su estilo impecable, su humildad y su amistad. María podía hacer amiga de cualquiera, y era amiga de todos. Qué suerte tenemos de haber conocido a una mujer tan grandiosa, tan graciosa y tan profundamente hermosa.

A María le sobreviven sus dos hermanas, Ludivina e Irma Granado. Su sobrina y sobrino, Alexandra y Issac. Su esposo José Ruiz. Sus hijos Cassandra y José Ruiz. Y su amada nieta Fernanada Elizabetta Ruiz. Durante este momento difícil, la familia de María está decidendo recordar su vida de una manera que honre su espíritu, con música, con amor y con sonrisas. Demos gracias por el tiempo que Dios nos ha permitido prestarla. Sus hijos y su esposo invitan a la comunidad a unirse en la celebrar su vida. Gracias.
