July 17, 1945 – April 9, 2023

Janice passed away with family at her bedside on April 9, 2023. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17th from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 18th at 1:00 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Janice was the daughter of Donald and Wilma Westfall of Wheeling, WV. Janice had an older brother, Bob, older sister, Donna, twin sister, Joyce, and younger sister, Becky.

Janice graduated from Sherrard High School in 1963 and earned a secretarial degree from Jefferson Technical College, OH in 1983. She worked as a Church Secretary for over 20 years with 16 of those years at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan. Janice was among the secretaries who started the first Brazos Church Pantry. After retirement, she worked part-time as a Simulated Patient for the TAMU Health & Science Center and was one of the first docents at the George Bush Presidential Library.

Janice was a member of Beta Sigma Phi International, where she held many offices throughout her 50 year tenure.

Janice had four children from a previous marriage and added six more children when she married the love of her life, Kent Gilcrest of Irondale, OH.

Those preceding Janice in death include her husband of 37 years Kent Gilcrest, sister Donna Westfall, brother Bob Stewart, stepson Brent Gilcrest, stepdaughters Linda Gilcrest Cupp and Jessie Gilcrest.

Janice will be missed by those left behind: Sisters Joyce Weisal and Rebecca Miller; Children: Robert Toepfer Jr, Licia Toepfer Kim, Randle Toepfer, Teresa Toepfer Arrington, Dana Gilcrest, Brenda Gilcrest Sellers, Barabara Gilcrest Cunningham; Grandchildren Bobby Toepfer, Isabella Toepfer, Michael Kim, Joshua Kim, Laura Kim, Katarina Toepfer, Ashley Arrington Jones, Hailey Arrington, Tiffany Arrington, Ken Sellers Jr, Steven Sellers, Patrick Sellers, Joey Cunningham, Matthew Cupp, and Angela Cupp; Great-grandchildren Daniel and Theodore Kim, Erin and Eliza Kim, Dazdyn and Mavarick Jones, Clayton, Hannah and Marianne Sellers.
