Dora Guillen Gutierrez

Dora Gutierrez, 94, of Bryan, passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021, in Cleveland. Visitation will begin at 1:30 with a 2pm Rosary and Graveside Service on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Bryan City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers.

Dora was born to Jose’ and Manuela Garcia Guillen in Rockdale, Texas on March 13, 1927. She married her husband Alfred Gutierrez on January 3, 1944. She and Alfred would welcome two daughters to their little family, Mary and Lynn. Dora was a homemaker and a wonderful mom to her children and an incredible grandmother. She and Alfred shared many happy years of marriage before his passing on October 9, 1956. Dora dedicated her life to her husband, Alfred and their family especially their daughters. Dora truly make a loving home for them all. Besides being a homemaker, Dora had a deep passion for flowers and gardening. She was truly blessed with baking and cooking treats for her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing and needle work (crocheting) and had an enthusiasm for education. She encouraged her daughters and grandchildren to strive for higher education. Dora was well read in various genres. She couldn’t get enough of the great outdoors while fishing and camping in Colorado. She truly liked taking walks wherever she lived. She was catholic in faith.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Alfred Gutirrez; her daughter, Lynn Schneebli; her sister, Louise Munoz and brother-in-law, Amador Munoz.

Dora is survived by her daughter, Mary Helen Price; her three grandchildren, Tommy Leigh Wyscaver, Shannon Tia Horton, and Jason Price; her four great grandchildren, Wyatt Horton, Jacob Wyscaver, Rheyma Price, and Darian Price.
