Delores "Cindy" F. Gillespie

Delores “Cindy” was born to Emmett and Eva Gregg in Kansas in 1936.  She grew up in Garnett, Kansas.  Cindy met the love of her life; Larry Gillespie and they were married in 1954.  They raised two sons, Greg and Lane, and they shared sixty one joyous years of marriage.   Cindy worked in banking in many professional positions and eventually retired as the administrative assistant to the Insurance Commissioner of Kansas.  After Larry retired from Kansas Power and Light Company, they spent many years traveling the roads and highways, exploring America with their travel trailer.   In her retirement Cindy enjoyed arts and crafts and became an accomplished painter.  She even taught others to paint.  Preceding her in death are her parents and her siblings; two brothers and a sister.  Her survivors include her sons, Greg and his wife Brenda Gillespie of Bryan, Texas, and Lane and his wife Sharon Gillespie of College Station, Texas and their daughter Susan Gonzales.
