Lawrence Mingo Watson

September 12, 1946 – May 27, 2018

Lawrence Mingo Watson, 71, of Bryan passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018. A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00am with Reverend Dr. Ty McDonald officiating.

Born Sept. 12, 1946, Lawrence was a devoted father, grandfather and loyal friend to all he met. Lawrence was the son of Emmitt and Lillie Watson of College Station, Texas, who proceeded him in death. He attended Lincoln High School in College Station and afterwards served in the United States Army stationed in Vietnam. He was a hard worker and provided for his family for many years as an employee of Ryder Truck. When he wasn’t working, taking care of his children or visiting family, he was known to take cross country trips on his motorcycle, which he loved. He accepted Jesus as his savior and held the hope of resurrection. He now rests in peace awaiting his hope of eternal glory.

He leaves to cherish his memory 3 brothers Roosevelt (Mary) Watson of Killeen, Donald Watson of Oklahoma City, OK, and Hubert Watson of Houston; sister Shirley Watson Mills of Lockhart; 9 children Sidney Smith of College Station, Tony Busby (Angela) of Everman, TX, Gregory Lawrence (Deborah) of Arlington, TX, Eric Watson (Luevenia) of Fort Worth, Erica Watson of Fort Worth, Khiana Bryson (George) of Fort Worth, Andrea Watson of Bryan, Brittney Watson of Arlington, and Courtney Shields (Chris) of Houston; 20 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
