Dr.Vicente Montemar, Jr.

Dr. Vicente V. Montemar Jr., 79, of Bryan passed away Saturday, December 22, 2007, at his residence. A memorial Mass will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Dr. Montemar was born in the Philippines and was a resident of Bryan since 1982, after moving from Marlin, Texas. Prior to his retirement, he was a physician, practicing in the Philippines where he performed charitable surgeries for children. He also practiced in Chicago, Pennsylvania, Marlin and Bryan. Most recently, he was the medical director of Westgate Plasma Center. He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nita Gonzales.

Survivors include sons, Al Montemar and wife, Riz, of Plano, Texas, and Vincent Montemar and wife, Cathy Flores, of Chicago; daughter, Grace Montemar and husband, Anthony Garcia, of Chicago; sister, Micaela Pasasadaba of the Philippines; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Brazos County Division, P.O. Box 4358, Bryan, Texas 77805.
