Callaway-Jones Funeral & Cremation Centers own and operate our own crematory with licensed and certified staff. Many other funeral homes hire third party crematories. These often have multiple funeral homes transferring remains in and out at any given time. This makes it nearly impossible for those other funeral homes to manage and supervise the cremation as well as Callaway-Jones Funeral & Cremation Centers can do for you.

To ensure security, and eliminate the possibility of any error, Callaway-Jones Funeral & Cremation Centers will place a personal identification band on your loved one at the moment your loved one is transferred to our care.
We will gladly bathe and dress your loved one if requested. We then allow your family to view your loved one prior to the start of the cremation. You can spend as much or as little time with your loved one as you wish.
Every staff member involved with cremation at Callaway-Jones Funeral & Cremation Centers is a Certified Cremation Specialist. Our high standards require that two individuals will review all cremation paperwork prior to cremation. This is to ensure authorizations have been received and have been properly documented.
We record the name of your loved one, the date and time of the cremation, identification number, crematory operator’s name, as well as additional information regarding the cremation. Our crematory log is dated and the start time is noted and initialed by our cremation technician before and after the cremation.
The crematory documents, personal identification band and stainless steel identification disc are placed on the outside of the cremation chamber during the cremation process.
At Callaway-Jones Funeral & Cremation Centers, every person in our care is logged into our tracking system and assigned an identification number, which is stamped into a stainless steel identification disc. This number is used to track every phase of the cremation process. Our tracking system includes date and time of arrival at our facility and name of the transfer technician. Personal belongings are cataloged and placed in a secure area for their return to the family.
After the cremation is complete, the cremated remains are placed with the stainless steel identification disc into an urn. Your family will then be contacted to arrange for a convenient time to receive your loved one.
If you have any questions about the cremation process at Callaway-Jones Funeral & Cremation Centers, or if you would like to inspect our crematory, please do not hesitate to contact us at 979-822-3717.
