Carolyn was a friend from school, Girl Scouts, and many sleepovers when we were girls. We spent many happy hours in the oak tree in her back yard on North Avenue, singing, reading , and eating apples. We sorted afgan squares for Mrs. Wilbanks until we nearly wore them out…I’ve wondered whether she ever finished that coverlet! And I wouldn’t be honest if I didn’t admit we browsed Dr. Turk’s anatomy books a few times! I’ve missed her for years!
Someone told me “Don’t cry because she is gone. Smile because she was here.” She was a treasure!
Thank you for sharing the wonderful memories, Beverly!
I was so sorry to read of Carolyn’s passing. We were friends in high school, but lost touch when we went to different colleges. But I remember our fun times fondly. My prayers to her family for God’s peace.
Thank you, Beverly.
