Joe L. Palermo, 95, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at his residence. His life was honored with a private service for his family under the direction of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Joe was born on March 18, 1915, in Bryan, Texas, to Luke and Mary Palermo. He was a lifetime resident of the area, and he was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served during WWII.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Charlie Palermo, and his sisters, Kate Barrington, Anne Cooke, and Pauline Harkey.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Melasky Palermo, of Bryan; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Peter Collier, of Sachse, Texas, Suzanne Palermo, of Bryan, Texas, Joni and Tommy Lenz, of Bryan, Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, Sam and Mary Palermo, of Bryan, Texas, Luke Palermo, of Bryan, Texas; sister, Mary Titus, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Stephanie Scarmardo, Sarah Dooley, David Collier, Don Lenz, Andrew Lenz; and one great grandchild.
