Dan Weldon Williams, 75, passed away on March 8, 2010 in Bryan, TX. Memorial services will be held Friday, March 12th at 2 PM at Whitehall Center at the Carleen Bright Arboretum, 9001 Bosque Boulevard, Woodway, (Waco) TX.
Dan was born September 7th, 1934 in Waco, TX, to Dan and Mary White Williams. He attended La Vega High School and Baylor University in Waco, and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Geology. He was a petroleum geologist with Phillips Petroleum and later with Marinex Petroleum in London, England, and Houston, TX.
Dan descended from early Spanish Texas settlers who entered Texas in the early 1800’s. He was interested in Texas history, family history, geology and gardening.
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Miriam and Rusty Gerdes, and grandson Will, of College Station; former wife, Mary Alice Williams, of Montgomery; brother, Harold Gene Williams, of Waco.
