The Southeast Texas Funeral Director’s Association gave out their annual awards Thursday evening, December 4, 2014 during a banquet at the Kemah Boardwalk. Local funeral director and owner of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, Cody Jones, was the recipient of the inaugural Young Funeral Professional of the Year Award. The award is nominated and voted upon by professionals within the funeral industry. In order to qualify, a funeral director must be under 40 years old, and must exemplify superior service to his community and the funeral profession by going above and beyond for the families he serves.
