Steven Garrett, 37, of College Station, formerly of Iola, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, in Bryan. A graveside service honoring his life will be at 10 o’clock Saturday, February 2, 2019, Rest Ever Memorial Park, in Bryan. Steven will be laid to rest alongside his mother who passed away in 2003. Officiating the graveside service is Minister Eugene Dewveall. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Steven was born on January 8, 1982, in Bryan, to Lou Ann Garrett. Steven was a member of the inaugural Iola High School Marching Band and remained a music enthusiast throughout his lifetime. After graduating high school he attended Austin Community College and Blinn’s Bryan Campus. He was a lifetime learner, with the ultimate goal of becoming a substance abuse counselor. Steven knew the Lord in his own manner and was a member of Cavitt Church of Christ.

His mom, Lou Ann; his grandfather Donny Garrett; his aunt Chele Garrett; precede him in death.

Steven is survived by his grandmother, Peggy Garrett; his uncles Benny and wife Teresa Garrett, Jimmy “Jimbo” Garrett and soon to be wife Sheri Neighbors; his cousins Brian and wife April Garrett, Cliff Garrett, Lauren Garrett, Matney and husband Tyson Brooks, and Tyler Garrett and fiancée Amy Daniels; his great-aunt Belva Field and multiple extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26th Street, Bryan, Tx 77803, in Memory of Steven Garrett.

  4. I miss having funny conversations with Steve-O. While I knew him for many years, he and I started having really deep conversations the year leading up to his passing. He had a really big heart. And he was learning to know and trust the Lord. RIP my friend. My deepest condolences to Peggy and his remaining family members.
