Sam Palermo

Sam Palermo, 87, of Bryan, passed away in Bryan on Monday, August 5 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility. Sam requested there be no services held when he passed from this life to eternal life. Service arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Sam Palermo was born in Brazos County to Luke Palermo and Fina Urso Palermo. Sam married Grace Campise; together they made their house a home for all to share. After her passing, Sam then married Mary Callaway. He spent time with his family and friends; many stories will be shared of his memory. He was a hard worker who enjoyed a new challenge in his career.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his first wife Grace Palermo; son-in-laws, Wynn Whitley and Bill Smith; his brothers, Joe Palermo and Charlie Palermo; his sister, Frances Dileo.

His survivors include, his wife of fifty-one years, Mary Palermo; his daughters and son-in-laws, Melissa McGee and husband Chuck, Gina MacFarland and husband Andrew, Phyllis Pollard and husband Dennis; his step-daughters, Peggy Paige and husband Jay, Janice Whitley, and Barbara Smith; his brother, Luke Palermo; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Palermo; and his brother-in-law Charlie Dileo; and his seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

Sam’s family would like to thank in a very special way James and Mae Dell Hardy, for their many years of friendship and care of Sam; also, a special thank you to Hospice Brazos Valley for the compassion and care given to Sam.

  3. I loved Sam. He was the best grandfather in the world. Always had to be careful of a “trick” or joke he played on you. Thank you for taking such good care of my Granny. You will truely be missed and I know you are at peace.
