Ruby Scambray, 85, of Bryan, passed away on Saturday, May 25 at Lampstand Health and Rehab Center. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, May 28 at Norwood Cemetery in Hearne, Texas. Pastor Duane DeWald will officiate. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Ruby was born to Johnny and Mary Estelle Smith in Navasota. Ruby was a survivor of Polio; she did not allow her disabilities to keep her from being a wonderful wife and loving mother of her children. Ruby made her house a home, for all who came to visit. She enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving Meals for her entire family. Ruby will always be known for the unconditional love she gave to her daughter Charlotte.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons Steve Scambray and Wayne Scambray, her daughter Barbara Jean Greer; and siblings.

Ruby is survived by her sons, Marion James Scambray, Sr. and wife Mary Jo, Vincent Frank Scambray, Jr. and wife Kathy; her daughters Charlotte Ann Scambray and Frances Willis; her eleven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
