September 17, 1952 – May 15, 2020

Roy C. Garcia, of College Station, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 15, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 67 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born in Bryan, Texas on September 17, 1952 to Ysidro Garcia, Sr. and Maria.  He was married for 45 years to Susie Sifuentez Garcia and had three children, Sandie Garcia, Leticia Garcia, and Roy Garcia and wife Rachel.  He had one granddaughter Laynie Hernandez and many grand fur babies.

Roy graduated from Bryan High School in 1973 and attended TSTI in Waco, Texas.  He was self-employed and owned his own a/c business for 35 years, in which he took great pride in.  He, then, worked at Texas A&M as an a/c mechanic and for parking services where he retired in 2017.  He loved everything Texas A&M.  He loved working there for many years and he especially loved watching the Aggie football, baseball, and softball games.  His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.  He’s infamously known for his gatherings and celebrations whether it was a BBQ cookout, watching a football game, hosting a game night or holiday party, or making a “Garcia” breakfast.  He always loved being with his big family.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.  He is preceded in death by his parents Ysidro and Maria Garcia, brother Ruben Garcia, Sr., and sisters Rosie Ortiz, Yolanda Rosser, and Linda Garcia.  He is survived by his wife, Susie and children, Sandie Garcia, Leticia Garcia, and Roy Garcia, Jr. and wife Rachel.  He also leaves behind his pride and joy, granddaughter, Laynie Hernandez.  He will be missed by his siblings, Ysidro Garcia, Jr. and wife Elia, Mary Helen Ramirez and J.J., Melva Mireles and Rod, Annie Ramirez and Billy, and Richard Garcia and Norma.  He had numerous nieces and nephews that adored him and the special nicknames he gave them.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at S.O.S. Ministries on May 24, 2020 at 4:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of Roy’s favorite charities:  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or MD Anderson Cancer Center.  The family would also like to thank the great doctors and nursing staff at Baylor Scott & White and MD Anderson Cancer Center and, especially, his wonderful and caring home health care nurses from Traditions, Melanie and Mona, who will always hold a special place in his family’s hearts.

  17. Our sincere condolences to the Garcia Family.
I know Roy has a front row seat in Heaven. He was kind to all, showed sympathy to others especially when their a/c went out. I learned about services he’d comp because he knew the person didn’t have money. There are traces of Roy everywhere. At least in our home attic and office.
To say he was a sweet man seems like an injustice – he carried all the kind and giving character traits that are rare in these times.
    Rest In Peace Roy

  18. I knew Roy from work. First at the Physical Plant then at Transportation Services where we both worked. Roy was a good man. I never heard him speak bad of anyone else. Never heard a curse word come out of his mouth. He was a true friend of all and a gentleman. God bless you Roy! Your family is in my prayers.

  19. Susie, so very sorry to hear about Roy. The only comfort must be that he is no longer suffering and is in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Prayers for you and all your family who will be missing this kind man.

  20. We were sad when Roy retired from our Texas A&M Transportation family and now deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was such a sweet and kind soul. He will be truly missed.

  22. We so are so sorry to hear about Roy passing. We are praying for your family healing , may god give him his resting place in heaven.

  23. My condolences to Roy Garcia’s family for their personal loss! I was not aware that Roy had passed away til s few days ago. God took the BEST A/C MAN IN THE INDUSTRY. My God! Roy was a good friend of mine. I have been good friends with Roy’s brother “SPEEDY GARCIA,” and his sister MELBA. We were friends in our Karate Class with ex-sensei Brad Lamb. God Speed to Roy’s lovely family and may he rest in peace with the Lord now at Roy’s side!! We will sure miss Roy alot!!!!!

  24. My dear sister Susie, I love so much and I’m sorry for the grief you are going through. I can’t imagine the pain you and the family are feeling right now, I’m sure it’s beyond words. But it must bring you comfort knowing your Roy is sitting side by side with our Heavenly Father. Im sure if he could have stayed a bit longer he would have, but his little body couldn’t hold on any longer. You are one the bravest women I know, and Roy knew it to. He was proud of his loving wife, you were his missing rib. He was a good husband to you and proud father who raise 3 wonderful, humble, and beautiful brave children whom all graduated from Texas A&M. He raised them to believe and praised the Lord. He was loved by so many and will be missed by us all. Roy might be gone but he will never be forgotten, his memories will keep him alive in our hearts. Rest In Peace my brother-in-law.

  25. Our condolences to Susie Sifuentez Garcia and Family from Mary Acosta and Daughters. Y’all were our surrogate family during our time in Bryan. Love to you all.
