  3. Some angels are just too precious to stay.

As I sit here thinking of Ray Brodin, Papa, I realize just how fortunate I was to have known him. I was truly blessed to have him in my life. He stood for so many wonderful qualities for so many people but to me his greatest gift was his unconditional love that he had for everyone. He was one of the most hard working, respected, caring loyal man I knew. He wasn’t only my father-in-law but my friend. There will not be a day that he won’t be missed. I learned so much from him that I will forever be grateful for but one very important thing was that he helped reinforce the fact that life is not about extravagance, materialism, or money. Its about loving the people that matter most because you will never know if you will see them tomorrow. Papa, you may have left this world, but you will never leave our hearts.

A heart of gold stopped beating, two shining eyes at rest, God broke our hearts to prove, he only takes the best. Rest in Peace our dear sweet Papa.

Sending kisses and hugs to heaven, your daughter-in-law, Stephanie Brodin

  4. As I’ve stood here bewildered and lonely accepting condolences one by one, I’ve heard many character descriptive words such as…. accepting, caring, happy and carefree, strong, generous, respectful and respected, courages, loyal, hardworking, stoic, wholesome, honest, wise, and kind, forgiving,a great teacher and a good listener and friend, and the list goes on and on… all to describe the man I know as “Daddy”! Yet what he saw in himself was only what he thought every man on earth should be striving for. Daddy you will never know all the lives that you have touched and the depth for which you’ve touched them in.
The things that you’ve taught your family, the way you loved us unconditionally, the stern, loving wholesome way that you taught your children could never be emulated. There are not alot of men like you in this big scary world, but because of you,who you were, the lessons you’ve taught, your wife, children, family and friends will have the knowledge and courage to make it. You taught us to Love big, Work and Play hard,be more Honest,, to respect and always help others, and to ALWAYS be here for Family. My prayer is that each persons life that you have touched will strive to carry out YOUR legacy by paying these lessons forward. As Bubba said..” you left a heck of a footprint and if we can only fill half of it, we will have accomplished something. My promise to you is … ” I will NEVER fill your shoes Daddy but I will never quit trying them on and praying that one day they will fit!
Daddy did not EVER expect perfection from anyone, but he would not accept anything but your VERY BEST. And if your not doing at least that your letting a Wonderful Man down.
Daddy you WILL be missed more than I can express, but my prayers to God and promise to You is that we will take the legacy you have left us and make you proud ONE more time.
I Love You Always and Forever
    Sabrina Kay Brodin Brady
