Rachel Christine Davis, 72, of Bryan, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Rachel was born in Hahira, Georgia. She lived most of her life in Bryan, having moved to Bryan from Corpus Christi. Rachel worked twenty-seven and a half years as a waitress at IHOP where everyone fondly knew her as “Grandma”. Rachel was a member of Living Word Worship Center in Bryan. She also loved poetry and wrote three books of poetry.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Eugene Davis; parents, Robert Grimmer Lang and Minnie Pearl Moore Lang; son, Russell Lee Davis; daughter, Virginia Davis; and grandson, Rocky Davis.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Davis and Tony Davis; daughters, Deborah Davis, and Lisa Low and husband Bobby Low; fiancé, J. Michael Blancett; brothers, Robert Lang and David Lang; sisters, Edna Hammer, Sue Balthaser and Linda Allen; grandchildren, Daniel Bennett, Falon Wilson, Kirsten Tedd, Stephanie Davis, Jennifer Davis, Christina Low and Jessica Low; and 5 great-grandchildren.
After reading the obituary, I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. It is my sincere wish that you may find comfort from the promise in the bible that soon ” death will be no more” (Revelation 21:4 ) We can hope to see our loved ones again in paradise. Psalm 37:11,29.
