R. P. Stevens Jr.
September 5, 1939 – March 18, 2019

R. P. Stevens, 79, of Hearne, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019, in his home. It was his desire that no public services be held. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

R.P. was most fond of living out in the country, enjoying the beautiful days of sunlight, the birds singing in the trees, and just the fresh air that was so life giving to many. R.P. spent most of his life living in the Brazos Valley including both Brazos and most recently Robertson Counties. He served his country honorably in the US Navy as a hydraulics technician servicing aircrafts aboard carriers for the Navy. He was employed with Dolly Madison, and retired from Shell Rapid Lube.

His parents, R.P. Stevens Sr., Annette Buna Gentry Stevens; his sons Gary David Stevens, and Ronald Page, all precede him in death.

He is survived by his wife, of 25 years, Susan Jean Hord Stevens; his siblings, Carol and husband Johnny Huskey of Groesbeck, Mary Lynne and husband Joe Stratta, of Bryan, David and wife Sherry Stevens, of Navasota; his daughter Pamela Denise and husband Larry Sanders, of Richwood; his grandchildren Jason Barton, Cody Garcia, and Jennifer Vasquez; his five great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

R.P.’s family asked that memorial donations be given to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 West 26 Street, Bryan, Texas 77803.
