Patricia Keen Brandenburg, 84, of Bryan, Texas died on February 25, 2011. A memorial service is set for 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.
Pat Brandenburg was born in Dallas, Texas. She was a Navy wife – strong, but flexible, raising her family at duty stations on the East Coast, the West Coast, Guam and many in between, finding excitement and reasons to love each one. She was an explorer of new places and ideas and lived a love story with her best friend for nearly 60 years.
Pat was an active member of the Officers Wives Club and the Brazos Valley Art League. She was a golfer and an artist. Having been described as “interested and interesting”, Pat touched the lives of all she met.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Stockton “Tiny” Keen and Lucile Donahoo Keen; her husband Brandy Brandenburg; and her son John.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane Brandenburg of Phoenix, Arizona, and Katherine Brandenburg of Long Beach, California. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Keen, her grandson and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Her family was her center and she cherished them. The family and friends that she leaves behind will miss her but know they are better for having known her and for having been loved by her.

To Kathy, and the rest of the family, my sincere condolences. Pat was my “Texas Mum” and I will miss her greatly. We shared some really fun times over the years and I will also miss my visits up to Bryan/College Station. I just know that she and Brandy and have reunited in heaven and are probably having a martini together, if not two. We should all celebrate her life regularly because she certainly fought the good fight in dealing with her health issues but always had the best disposition in spite of the adversities.

So sorry for your loss. To lose a loved one at any age is difficult and no words will take away the pain you feel. I hope that you will be encouraged by the promise God gives of a future resurrection. John 5:28, “Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” He also gives the promise that one day he will do away with death forever, 1 Cor. 15:26. Find hope and comfort in your cherished memories.
Dear Kathy–I was saddened by the passing of your Mom, and so sorry that I was unable to attend the memorial service. I did get by to sign the book, but nobody was there at the time. I have such fond memories of playing golf with both your parents and also of game nights playing cards or working puzzles. I will miss them both. They were my good friends. I wish you peace. Judy
