William Rex Shreckengaust Jr.

William R. Shreckengaust Jr. passed away June 1, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan. He was 88 years of age. He was born in Brenham, TX on June 25, 1934. Bill grew up in Houston, graduated from Austin High School, attended the University of Houston and transferred to Sam Houston where he received his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree.

It was at Sam Houston that he met the love of his life, Billie. They were married 66 years and had 3 children- Larry, Janice, and David Shreckengaust. He taught woodworking and drafting for 22 years and left teaching to go into business for himself repairing machine tools. When he retired, he and Billie took up the RV lifestyle and traveled many miles throughout the U.S. and Canada. Bill was a member of Cypress Masonic Lodge and Rogers Prairie Lodge and was Past Master of Cypress Lodge. He received a lifetime certificate from the Grand Lodge of Texas. He was a member of Hilltop Lakes Chapel and was a past member of the Board.

He is survived by his wife Billie, his son Larry and daughter Janice, two nieces Sherri Jahns and Vicki Mitchell. Preceded in death are his parents Rex and Leona Shreckengaust, his sister Nona Lynn Davenport, and son David Shreckengaust.

He will be buried in Klein Memorial Park, north of Tomball.
