Virginia "Raack" Wooten

May 13, 1940 — March 8, 2025

Tomball, Texas

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Davis Raack Wooten, 84, of Bryan Texas on March 8, 2025, in Tomball, Tx.

Born May 13, 1940 in Bryan Texas. Virginia grew up and lived in Bryan the majority of her life. Her and two sisters grew up in North Bryan where her parents provided them with much love and many happy memories. Virginia graduated from SFA High School and then attended Mary Hardin–Baylor College. After graduation she worked in the medical field as a laboratory technician for many years. Virginia met and married her husband, Kenneth Raack. Kenneth was enlisted in the US Army and soon after marriage they moved to Fort Eustis army base in Newport News, Virginia. They eventually received orders to transfer to Germany where they spent several years before moving to Ft. Campbell, Kentucky where Kenneth would retire from the army. After his retirement they moved back to Bryan where Virginia began to work at the Bryan Nephrology Center. She retired from there after 28 years of working with many good friends.

One of Virginia’s passions was gospel music. She attended gospel music concerts throughout the Texas area. After the passing of her husband, she met a special friend Gene Campbell. Her and Gene spent her final years in Tomball Texas enjoying traveling and attending family get-togethers. Though Virginia had no living children of her own, she played a cherished role in the lives of her nieces and nephews treating them as her children and grandchildren, seldom missing an important event in their lives.

Virginia passed away from a short sudden onset of Leukemia. She will be remembered for her zest for life, fun, witty personality and for always helping out a family member or friend in need. Virginia was strong in her faith, and was at peace her last days with the knowledge that she would soon be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and be reunited with her loved ones that went on before her.

Virginia is survived by Gene Campbell; cousins: Adele Wright, Connie Francis; nieces: Cindy Saffel, Judy Godeaux (Barry), Wendy Nall; nephews: Richard Timm (Jan), Gordon Mais (Linda), Jeff Mais (Denise), Brad Nall (Jimmy), Andy Nall (Gina); great nieces: Candy Kulka (Nick), Krista Devries (Kenneth), Jessica Jones ( Kevin), Mellissa Sleyko (Joe); great nephews: Jason Godeaux (Marsha), John Godeaux (Mariel), Jayme Timm (Alyssa), Dustin Timm (Payten), Chad Mais (Rachel).

Virginia is preceded in death by her father: Algie Davis; mother, Ida Davis; husband, Kenneth Raack; infant daughter, Kimberly Allen; sisters; Mary Jane Timm and Betty Nall; niece, Kathy Jones

A graveside service for the interment of Virginia’s ashes will be held on April 5, 2025, 11:00 am at Martin’s Prairie Cemetery. A celebration of life will be immediately following the service at the Martin’s Prairie fellowship hall.
