Toribio (Toby) Rueda

Toribio (Toby) Rueda, 88, died in Bryan, Texas. He was born to parents Refugio and Maria Gomez Rueda, in Wellborn, Texas. Toby was one of nine children, and they grew up quickly, working in the cotton fields of the Brazos Bottom as they grew up.

Toby taught himself auto mechanics, something he loved, and he was able to make his career as a mechanic. He and his wife have two sons, Robert Rueda and Toribio Rueda, Jr., both of Bryan.

As a major football fan, Toby’s favorite team was always the San Francisco 49ers, and he loved to watch the games with family.

He was preceded in death by wife, Josephine Garcia Rueda, as well as by his parents. Toby is survived by his sons, Robert and Toribio, as well as Yolanda, Gloria, Carmen, Joe and Anthony.

A time of Visitation will be held for Toby on Monday, November 1, 2021, from 5:00-7:00pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan. Certified Celebrant Dawn Lee Wakefield will officiate the Celebration of Life at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in the Bluebonnet Room of Callaway-Jones, followed immediately by burial at Bryan City Cemetery.
