Tommie Narro

September 12, 1943 — October 17, 2021

Tommie Duran Narro-a grandfather, a father, and a friend to all – passed away on October 17th, 2021, at his home in Bryan, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 78. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 23rd at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. Officiated by Pastor Jose Alaniz of Sanctuary of Praise.

Tommie was born on September 21, 1943, in Clay, Texas to Rachel Duran Narro and Domingo Narro, Tommie was lifelong resident of Bryan, Texas. He was employed as a glass technician for many years. His hobbies included watching western movies, sports, and enjoying conversations with his close friends and family in his garage. Little League West baseball was also a major part of his life. Tommie was able to coach his sons and nephews and spread his love of baseball to many more.  Even after his coaching career came to an end, he still managed to remember all the kids that he ever coached.

Above all he loved his children and grandchildren very, much, and his life revolved around them. They came before any and everything for he loved his grandkids to no end, and it showed.  He will be remembered and missed by any and all that knew him.

Tommie is presided in death by his parents Domingo & Rachel Narro and brother Ambros Narro. He survived by his seven children, Tommie R. Narro (Rachel Narro) of Edinburg, Texas, Ralph Narro (Holly Narro) of Caldwell, Texas, Janette Lovato (Eddie Lovato) of Bryan, Texas, Jennifer Escobar (Rudy Escobar), of Bel Air, Maryland, Jeanine Acevedo (Daniel Acevedo) of Bryan, Texas, Frank Narro (Monica Narro) of Knoxville, Tennessee, Maria “Pebbles” Hernandez (Jose Hernandez), 17 grandchildren and his brother Julian Narro; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Here’s to Tommie Narro. Someone whom so many of us grew up with and whose lives are better because of him.
