Todd Laney Gregory

Todd Laney Gregory, age 60, of College Station, Texas passed away suddenly from natural causes on April 27, 2023.

He is survived by his wife Karen; son Tanner; daughter-in-law Lucy; grandson Rocky; mother June; nephew Duncan Stanley; and brother-in-law Stacy Stanley. He was preceded in death by his father Joe, and sister Lisa (Stanley).

Todd was born and raised in Merkel, Texas. He earned his BBA in Finance from Texas Tech University. He then moved to San Francisco to start his career at Chevron. After 9 years in the Bay area, the family moved to College Station to be closer to extended family when Tanner was born. It was there he began his 24 year career at Texas A&M University in Financial Management Operations where he served as a Director.

He began dating Karen in 2005 and while they only had 18 years together, they made the most of them! Todd loved to travel and was looking forward to having the time for longer trips in retirement. He and Karen took an annual trip to the Florida gulf coast (along Scenic Hwy 30A) where they enjoyed many beautiful sunsets on the beach. Some of Todd’s favorite travels included hiking, especially in National Parks, and a Mediterranean cruise from Istanbul to Rome.

Todd was a family man. His favorite part of the week was Sunday afternoons when Tanner, Lucy and Rocky came to “GiGi’s house” to spend time with Papa G and GiGi. Todd loved playing with little Rocky, but also cherished the opportunity to see his son whom he loved with all his heart and soul!

Todd loved music and especially enjoyed listening under the stars at an amphitheater. Sports were a big part of his life as well, especially Texas Tech sports. He was very proud that his son was a Division 1 athlete on the track team at Texas Tech. Todd played softball and golf in his adult life and enjoyed an evening walk with Karen most weekdays.

Todd was taken from us too soon and his memory will be cherished by numerous family, friends and colleagues.
