In 1974, she entered the nursing program associated with St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan, Texas. After graduating second in her class, she went to work for St. Joseph. Susan married Dwayne Nedbalek on June 7, 1985. She took a break from nursing when they moved to Alabama but went back to work when they returned to Texas. Susan worked at various hospitals in the Houston area until her retirement in 2012 when her granddaughter, Veronica Holloway, was born. Throughout her life she was an accomplished artist, of paintings, flower arranging, wreaths, Christmas decorations, and so many other similar crafts. She devoted her life to caring for, not just her patients, but also all the people and pets in her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents Margie and K.D. Hall and her son, Michael Holloway.

She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Nedbalek of College Station, her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Bridget Holloway and their daughters Allison, Alaina, and Veronica of College Station.
