Sharon Lee Locke

October 29, 1949 — September 11, 2023

On Monday, September 11, 2023, Sharon Locke passed away to rejoin her husband after a sudden health crisis. Sharon will be interred at Restever Memorial Cemetery in the mausoleum during a private family service.

Sharon was born in Bryan to William A. and Louise C. Bullock, the middle of three daughters. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and the Bryan Academy of Cosmetology. She married her lifetime soul mate Larry Locke on July 21, 1967. One of her greatest joys was the birth of her son Kelly Joe in 1977. Sharon was a gentle and loving person. She focused that love on supporting her husband of 56 years in his various community engagements. After working in the property division for 20 years, she retired from the Bryan Police Department. She treasured her animals, both small and large, and was involved in 4H programs with her son during the late 1980s and early 1990s. For a number years, she explored art through pastels and ceramics, gifting family members and friends with beautiful keepsakes. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, beloved sister and aunt, and kind friend.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and more recently her husband Larry on May 6, 2023. She is survived by her son Kelly and wife Leigh, granddaughters Emily and Ellie Locke and step grandchildren Blake, Ryan, Tyler, and Bryleigh Burtin. She is also survived by her sisters, Glenda Mosley and Pat Mosley, nieces Pixey Mosley and Dawn Tolliver, and nephew Robert Mosley.
