Ryan Patrick Todaro, 39, passed away on November 6, 2024. Ryan was larger than life in both size and heart. He loved early mornings; usually up by 5am. His coffee and cigarette were his first go to and then he would say, “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” He loved the Kettle Big Breakfast. He was a self-described “Momma’s Boy” and proud of it. He went to see his mom every day and literally texted or called her in-between his visits.
Ryan was a grandson that loved his Memaw and PawPaw. His Memaw was his cheerleader in every sense of the word. She understood him and now they are in Heaven together again. Ryan was an EMT and saved his Memaw more than once. Ryan thought his PawPaw was the best person in the world and really looked up to him. Ryan always said, “If I could be like PawPaw, I would be the best.”
Work, busy schedules, and life kept Ryan from seeing family and extended family as often as he wanted. But Ryan really loved all his family including uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Ryan loved very deeply, how “tough, grown men love.” He didn’t express it out loud very often. He was close to his mom, like all children are. Mothers and their children have a bond that God created never to be broken. So, when he needed support or unconditional love, he went to his mother. Ryan graduated high school and went on to EMT training and the Fire Academy, graduating at the top of his class. He then attended the Police Academy, but never chose to pursue those career paths.
As brothers go, he had great respect for his little (not so little) brother, Randy. Ryan would say that Randy is such a great dad and businessman. One Sunday, for no particular reason, they all got together for lunch. Randy made the brisket, Ryan said, “We should do this every Sunday.” Randy’s response was, “Sure, you can do the cooking.” Ryan’s response to that was, “I have been playing with all the kids so you could be the Grill Master.” Ryan loved kids, his nieces and all the neighborhood kids. He would make hot dogs for his boys and always include their friends and other kids from the neighborhood.
Ryan loved to take his boys fishing, a passion he got from his own Dad, Danny. He and his dad used Ugly Sticks, which in case you didn’t know, is a supreme fishing rod. If he needed advice on fixing his car or truck, he would go straight to his stepdad, Tom, who Ryan thought was an expert on cars and trucks.
Ryan loved his kids more than anything in this world. His children were his pride and joy. His oldest, Mason, graduated this year from high school. He thought Mason was the best and brightest graduate of all time. He was so very proud of Mason.
Major, Ryan’s second son, is a high school freshman and football was their thing. Ryan loved is high school years almost as much as he loved watching and supporting Major’s football career. Ryan and Major talked about his games and Ryan was so very proud of Major. Ryan looked forward to seeing every game Major played.
Rylan, his three-year-old son, made Ryan so proud. They always had foot races and Rylan won hands down. Rylan would jump all over his daddy in celebration after winning.
His most loved job was being a dad. He and Amber just celebrated having a 4-week-old baby girl, Keslynn. In the 2 short weeks Ryan got to spend with Keslynn, he was completely taken by her. He loved her instantly.
Ryan enjoyed spending time with his dog Yeger, who he rescued. Yeger was a senior dog with hip issues and grey in his fur. Ryan said Yeger was the dog he wanted at the shelter because he as just so like him, old and enjoyed taking naps.
Ryan loved food and Golden Corral was one of his favorites. But so was Whataburger and Wings and More. He loved extra hot wings, which he passed on to his two oldest boys. The boys loved extra hot wings, just like Dad. Ryan also loved snacks, especially cake and ice cream, as well as takis chips.
Ryan collected Hooey Hats and just got a new pink one for his baby girl’s birth. Every day he would come to his mom’s house, but before he could say a word, he had to give Tia, his mom’s dog, attention and a treat, then he might not have had any reason to stop by, so he would get an unsweet tea out of the refrigerator and a snack cake and say, “Thank you, see you later. Love Ya.”
Ryan was preceded in death by his Memaw, Glenda Haskin, his grandmother and grandfather, Evelyn and Joe Todaro, his cousin, Scott Todaro, and his aunt, Marie Todaro-Phillips.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Tonya Saunders (Tom), his father, Danny Todaro (Winnie), his brother, Randy Todaro (Hannah) and 4 beautiful neices, his beloved children, Mason Todaro, Major Todaro, Rylan Todaro, Keslynn Todaro, his children’s mother, bestie, and love, Amber Todaro, his uncles Emmitt Haskin (Theresa), his uncle Keith Haskin, his uncle Mike Todaro (Gloria), his aunt Angela Todaro-Espanosia (Joe), and many loved cousins, extended family, and friends.
Ryan will be always remembered, forever loved.
