Roy Kelly, 98, of College Station, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020, in College Station. Graveside Committal Service will begin at 1 pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Rest Ever Memorial Park in Bryan. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Roy was born to William and Mable Feluer Kelly, on October 22, 1922, in San Antonio, Texas. He served in the United States Navy as a Fire Control Man. He and his bride, Dorothy Elizabeth Deacon, shared 75 years of marriage. They lived in Houston befor and after Serving and then moved to Fairbanks Texas, worked a dairy farm. In 1963 they purchase land for the Dairy farm where the CHI-St. Joseph College Station Medical Center is located. Roy had two other careers beginning with A-1 NAPA Auto Parts in 1975-1985. A Bailiff for the Brazos County Courts between 1985-2012.

His services to the Brazos County community is as follows, Service and sacrifice to the Wellborn water supply corporation 1970 to 1979; Chairman vocab vocational advisory board in 1979 -1981 College Station Independent school District; College Station City Council 1980-1981; College Station Planning and zoning commission 1982 to 84; Served Texas workforce development network in 1996; Brazos County Crimestoppers outstanding leadership Roy Kelly president 1988 to 1999; a member of Morning Lion’s Club 25 plus years; Member for Board of Directors of Brazos Transit District the “D”; numerous awards and recognition’s throughout his life including the naming the Roy W. Kelly Multimodal Transit Complex.

Roy especially loved the water, fishing, boating, wind surfing.

His parents, William and Mable; his sister, Margarite and husband Vincent Santapola; all precede him in death.

Roy is survived by his wife of 75 years, Dorothy Kelly; daughter Jackie and husband Lee Culver; his sons, Roy William Kelly Jr., and wife Denise, Thomas and wife Elizabeth Kelly; his six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and other close relatives.
