Robert Paul Nixon

Robert Paul “Bob” Nixon of Plantersville, Texas died December 4, 2023. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Debi Nixon and son, Dustin Ray. He is survived by his wife Virginia Klepp; daughter, Autumn Gordon and her husband Robert Gordon; son, Devin Ray; step-daughter Lesli White and her husband Robert White; sister: Beverly Fritz; brother: Chuck Nixon; five grandchildren: Gracey and Gentry Gordon, Payton and Kaitlyn Ray, and Collin Dudley; and one great-grandchild. 

Bob attended elementary and middle schools in Houston, and high school in California where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended college at Pasadena (CA) City College where, as drum major, he led the 1972 Tournament of Roses parade.

He was the store manager with Elliott Electrical Supply Company in Bryan and then in Huntsville before his retirement in 2017.

Bob was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.  Equestrians will remember his riding the Salt Grass Trail Ride and the Houston Stock Show parade.  

He served on the Board of Friends of Grimes County. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to Friends of Grimes County, 10114 CR 314, Navasota, TX, 77868.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 20 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. A reception follows from 2:00 until 4:00PM at Whiskey Tango in Navasota.
