Robert “Bob” Harville was born in Beaumont, TX, on July 24, 1935. He passed peacefully from this world in the early morning of July 29, 2021. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. Bob just recently celebrated his 86th birthday surrounded by his loved ones reminiscing of ski trips, family vacations and sharing funny stories and sweet memories.
Bob was born in Beaumont, TX to Young Washington “Lefty” and Verda Lee Harville. His love for his country started at a young age. While in high school he joined the Naval Reserve. After high school, following in his father’s footsteps, he began his career to become a Journeyman electrician, then went on to earn his Master’s license. In 1958 he was called to active duty and it was during this time he met and proposed to the love of his life, Sandra Lee Gafford and shortly thereafter left for active duty in the Mediterranean. Bob and Sandy were married in Beaumont, TX on April 3, 1959, and lived briefly in Norfolk, VA. They soon returned to Beaumont where they started their family of three beautiful children, Mike, Kim, and Vicki. In 1970 Bob got an amazing opportunity to work for Fisk Electric in Jamaica building a plant. He and his family made many fond memories during the two years they were there. After their tropical life experience, Bob moved his family back to Texas where he started Harville Electric Company. Harville Electric Company was a well- known and respected business in Bryan-College Station that served its many loyal customers from 1972 to 1990.
Upon retiring Bob and Sandy moved to Pearland, Texas where he enjoyed family time, a good golf game and continued serving electrical needs to his community. Recently Bob and Sandy moved back to College Station to enjoy family and friends. He was blessed by his biggest legacy, his family. Many fond memories were made with his children, his nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was proud of each and every one of them and loved and supported them in all of their activities
The things Bob held close were his faith, family and serving others. He will be remembered by his work ethic, big heart, warm friendly smile, and love of his family and country. All of those that loved Bob are comforted by knowing that our loss was his reunion with those that went before him.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his son Mike Harville and other loving family members
