Raymond William Lee Jr.

Raymond William Lee Jr., 79 of Bryan, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Raymond William Lee Jr. was born on December 29, 1943 to Raymond W. Lee Sr. and Avonell Lee in Aquilla, TX. He graduated from Connaly High School in Waco, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Billy and Darryl Lee. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Lee; daughter Sheila Hennigar and husband Scott Hennigar, daughter Robin Haischer and husband Chris Haischer, daughter Teresa Daniels and husband Chip Daniels. Sister Margaret Harper. Grandkids Misty Ryan and husband Richie Ryan, Stuart Hennigar, Tara Richards and husband James Richards, and Dominic Daniels. Great grandkids Faith Ryan, Kaden Ryan, Reagan Richards, and soon to be Peyton.

Raymond has been a long-time resident of Bryan, Texas since 1980. Before coming to Bryan, Raymond resided in a few places throughout the years including Waco, Austin, and Klamath, OR. Most recently, he worked at New S/W Baking Co and went on to retire in 2007. He was also a member of First Baptist Church in Bryan.

Raymond’s hobbies included gardening, birdwatching, woodworking, and feeding treats to neighborhood dogs at the park. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He instilled hard work and a love of nature with his family. He loved building birdhouses and watching his purple martins every spring morning and evening. He had an extended family of kids and dogs that walked in the park behind his house that would always stop by for a chat and a treat. Raymond loved Jesus and enjoyed his coffee and devotional every morning on the back porch. The family thanks you for your love and support during this time.

A visitation will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center on Sunday, May 7^th from 5-7. A funeral service will also be held at Callaway-Jones on Monday, May 8^th from 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. with a graveside service at Powers Chapel Cemetery from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. David Gusewelle will be officiating and Rob Brower will be playing the violin. Pallbearers include Scott Hennigar, Chris Haischer, Chip Daniels, Richie Ryan, Stuart Hennigar, Kaden Ryan, and Dominic Daniels.
