Raymond Havel

August 17, 1933 — December 30, 2021

Raymond Lee Havel, 88, of Bryan was called home by God on Thursday, December 30, 2021 peacefully in the comfort of his home in Robertson County. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until service time at 1:00pm, Monday, January 3, 2022 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center, 3001 South College, Bryan, Texas.  Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, FM 2446, Franklin, Texas.

Raymond was born in Caldwell, Texas on August 17, 1933 to Frank Steven Havel and Francis Anna (Kubin) Havel.  He was one of six children.  His brothers and sisters were Andy Havel, Hubert Havel, twin brother Edmund Havel, Dorothy Sweat, and Sylvia Polansky.

He married the love of his life on October 9, 1954 to Beverly Ann Todd in Caldwell, Texas. They were blessed with four children, Kenneth, Gaylon, Andrea, and David. Raymond was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting, fishing, and camping with his family.  He also enjoyed taking trips to the casinos in Shreveport, LA.- where he won on several occasions.  He was a “Jack of all Trades” – there was nothing that he could not build, fix or work on.  He was best known by his grandchildren as “Pawpaw”. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, serving in the Korean War.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, son-Gaylon Lee Havel, Grandson Matthew Brian Winn, parents, and siblings.

He leaves behind his son and daughter-in law Kenneth and Jane Havel, daughter-in-law Jeanine Havel, daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Donald Lero, and son David Havel.

He will be missed by his grandchildren, Steven Havel, Madison Havel, Garrett Lero, Joshua Havel, Ginger Seely and husband Matthew, Brian Duval and wife Crystal, Great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews
