Paul Macias, 43, of Bryan passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, in College Station. Visitation will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral & Cremation Center from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. A memorial service in his honor will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2815 Welsh Avenue, College Station, Texas 77840.
Paul was born to Richard Ybarra Macias and Mary Jane Navarro Macias, on September 1, 1977, in Bryan, Texas, where he would live his whole life. Paul attended school in Bryan and graduated from Bryan High School in 1996. He loved sports particularly football, and eventually came to his senses and became a big Aggie fan!
In August of 2006, Paul met his sweetheart, Becky, who would turn out to be his best friend, wife, and greatest champion. Paul and Becky were married in July 2009 and lived happily in the Bryan/College Station area for their entire marriage. Those closest to Paul knew that he had a larger than life personality. He never met a stranger in his life and was quick to befriend anyone and everyone whom he came in contact with. He was known to be quite a storyteller and could talk your ear off, if you let him. Despite his lengthy and challenging battle with diabetes, Paul remained positive and patient as he endured a number of health complications resulting from his condition. He and Becky looked forward to the day when he would be blessed to have a kidney transplant, but God had other plans for him and called him home beforehand. Even though their marriage was filled with many trials and tribulations, Paul and Becky made the most of every minute that they had together. Paul’s favorite pastime was spending time with his nieces, nephews, and Becky. Nothing brought him more joy than playtime (getting into trouble) with the kids. Paul was a sweetheart, caring, and just an overall special person. While we all wanted just a little bit more time with him, we thank God for blessing us with the time that he was with us.
Paul is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paula and Paul Macias, maternal grandparents, Vicenta Morales and Lucio Navarro, and his Aunt Jesusa “Susie” Navarro.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Macias of College Station; his father, Richard Macias (Rosie) of Bryan; brother, Eric Wayne Macias (Robin) of Bryan; parents-in-law, Josie and Omar Mejia of College Station; sisters-in-law, Mary Schubert (Jason), Denise Pineda (Daniel), Crystal Mejia-Jones (Jacob) of College Station; and his many nieces and nephews who were his pride and joy, Roby & Rhianna Sanchez, LeeAnna & Mason Schubert, Makayla, Mckenzy, & Rudy Marquez, and Talie, Elizabeth, & Abigail Macias; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
