Patricia Gandy

Patricia “Patt” Karen Gandy, age 73, passed away on January 15, 2024, after a four-month battle with lung cancer. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, January 22, at Callaway Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas. Visitation is 11 AM with a service at 12 PM.

Patt was born on October 1, 1950 in Springfield, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents, Colonel JP Howard and Jimmy Fern Bell, as well as two of her brothers, Richard Westover and Mike Howard, and two nieces. Patt is survived by her longtime partner Steve Phillips, of College Station; her son Gage Gandy and wife Blanca, of Bryan; her daughter Gentri Pinter and husband Ron, of Bryan; her daughter Gilian Gandy and wife Bernice, of Portland, OR; her brother John Howard, of Bryan; two nephews and a niece. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren and numerous others who called her Gigi.

Patt was an Air Force brat who lived all over the world but always called Texas home. As a young child, her father was stationed in Bryan where she would meet the future father of her children, Charles Gandy. Patt graduated from Livermore High School (CA) in 1968 and moved back to Texas to start a family. Patt was the most devoted and proud mother of her three children. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her kids, whether it was carpooling or volunteering at their schools, coaching them in softball, throwing legendary birthday parties, and of course watching them dance and play any sport. Patt was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. She had a close group of “sister” friends that affectionately called her “Pitty Patt” and loved to travel, play golf, and dance together. Patt loved watching her Aggies and especially loved tailgating with Joni and Lars Rosene and the rest of the Ol’ Sarge crew. She considered her greatest accomplishment to be being Gigi to her grandchildren and so many more. In recent years, she was usually with one of her 3 C’s, Camden, Camille, or Case Joffrion. She loved watching all her grandkids play sports. Patt was a great storyteller and loved passing on tall tales to her kids and grandkids. She had a strong faith, and even through her cancer diagnosis, she trusted in the Lord.
