d. January 17, 2023

Pamela Hollas Couger was born February 2, 1944 and passed away peacefully after a  2 1/2 year battle with Alzheimers Dementia at the age of 78. Pamela was born and raised in Bryan Texas. At the time of her passing, she was a resident at Hudson Creek Memory Care Facility in Bryan Texas.  She had previously been at St. Joseph Manor and Sodalis Senior Living Facility for periods after she moved out of her residence due to her inability to safely live alone.

The services for Pamela will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she had been a lifelong member. She always looked forward to attending the Saturday evening vigil Mass every weekend.  Services will entail a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Eilers presiding on February 2, 2023 @ 3 pm with a Celebration of Life & Happy Heavenly Birthday Reception to follow in the St. Joseph Parish Activity Center behind the church, since it is being held on what would have been her 79th birthday. Interment of ashes will be at a later date at the grave site in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Bryan Texas. Pamela’s cremation was handled by Callaway Jones Funeral Home and Cremation Specialist.

Pamela retired from Bryan ISD where she was a teacher’s aide as well bus monitor for special needs children. She was also a director of the children’s nursery at St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. Also, she worked as a childcare provider at Aerofit Fitness Center in Bryan. Pamela graduated from Stephen F Austin High School with the class of 1962. She also attended Sam Houston State University and McKenzie Baldwin Business College. In her leisure time, she stayed fit by walking and exercising at the fitness center.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Adele and Richard Hollas of Bryan and older brother Delrich Phil Hollas who passed away at the age of 9 years old when Pamela was only 6 years of age.  His passing was tremendously difficult for both our parents as well as Pamela since she was very close to Delrich.
