Olive Margaret Arnold
“Nana”
Olive was born, October 4th, 1924, to Samuel and Edith Hanna, in Gisborne, New Zealand. Olive passed away, December 29th, 2024, at Carriage Inn Assisted Living, in Bryan, Tx.
Olive grew-up and attended school in Gisborne, NZ. She had many happy childhood memories of her time in Gisborne. The family moved to Wellington, NZ in the late 1930’s and early 1940’s, during the time of WWII. There, she pursued a career in accounting. While in Wellington, she met Morris McCullough from Millican, Tx. They had one son, Keith McCullough. After Morris’s untimely death, when Keith was older, she and Keith came to Texas so Keith could meet his grandparents. Olive later met Bill Arnold, of College Station, Tx. and they married and had five children. She became a homemaker and loving wife and mother. She worked for many years as a teacher's aide with Special Education kids at South Knoll Elementary School. She also loved her volunteer time with the Sunshine Auxiliary at College Station Medical Center. Olive loved her gardening. You could always find her outside pottering around with all her plants. One of her greatest loves was attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren events; Football, soccer, baseball, basketball, dance recitals and rodeos. Another love she had was traveling. She has traveled the world and often talked about all the places she had been. Olive had a special bond with two of her sisters-in-laws, Ruby Arnold and Lottie Ann Arnold. Ruby and Olive loved traveling together.
The family was blessed to be able to celebrate Olive’s 100th Birthday. She always said she would be like her mother and be 100 years old.
