Melissa Maldanado passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025 with the love of her family surrounding her. Melissa was born in Bryan, Tx on July 30, 1979 to Frank Jr and Molly Casares. She was a lifelong resident of Bryan and attended Bryan High School. Her calling in life was to be a caregiver. She did it for over 25 years and cared for many patients whom she grew to love as family. Melissa was kind and thoughtful, always ready to help where she could. She had a love for life and was always ready to celebrate any occasion with family and friends. She loved to dance, especially to Tejano music. She had a beautiful smile that could light up a room and a unique laugh that made you laugh with her. She enjoyed traveling with her son and fiancé, looking forward to make a stop at Buc-ee’s on the way. She was a devoted fan of the Cowboys, Aggies and the Astros and made sure to never miss a game. She even enjoyed a little karaoke. She recently started attending church where she grew to love the Lord and enjoyed reading the bible with her daughter. The Lord was enlightening His word to her and she began to understand it. So much good can be said about Melissa and she will be dearly missed by so many. Melissa is preceded in death by her father, Frank Casares Jr., her grandparents, Frank Sr and Fidela Casares and Isa and Pola Narro.
She is survived by her mother Molly Casares, her daughter Mikayla Maldanado, her son Donavan Sanchez, her sister Melinda and husband John Mack, her nephew Frank Mack who held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by the love of her life, her fiancé Celestino Rubio.
