Mary Jo Minnox

April 30, 1927 — April 15, 2023

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, we suffered the great loss our loving mom, grandmother, and great grandmother Mary Jo (Tittle) Minnox at the age of 95.

A special prayer in her honor, we love you so much:

Dear Heavenly Father, we are grateful and truly blessed for all the time you have granted us with this special person. Our prayer is the that your merciful light has shined down on her and has blessed her sweet soul. That you have gently comforted her and received her into your loving arms where she will rest peacefully in your care until we meet again. She was loved ever so dearly and she will be missed so very much. May your Lord’s grace fall upon us, comfort us and help us to be strong, help us to bear and accept another painful loss, help us to heal in time and graciously hold precious memories. In the Name of Jesus Christ, our Savior We Pray, Amen

Mary Jo was born on April 30, 1927 in Holland, TX to John Reagan and Carrie (Minter) Tittle. She grew up in Bartlett and Holland Texas where she graduated from Holland High School. She married Jack Ballard Minnox on August 16, 1947. Together they raised a son Douglas Lee Minnox and two daughters Carrie Sue (Minnox) Rogers, and Linda Jo (Minnox) Stoddard.

Mary Jo attended business classes at Sul Ross State University. She was member of Beta Sigma Phi, the American Women’s Association, Texas State Teachers Association, CSISD Secretaries Association, and volunteered with the Ombudsman Program. She worked for NCR, the CSISD Tax Office, and the CSISD Business Office. She retired from CSISD in May of 1991, but returned the following month in June of 1991 where she worked for CSISD for another 17 years.

Mary Jo had a strong faith and joined the First Baptist Church in Bryan Texas in 1970 and served there as the secretary of the Eunice Sunday School Class for many years.

She was a member of the Gold Medallion Club and enjoyed many trips and outings over the years with her friends and church members. Her absolute favorite activity was line dancing. She was a cherished member of the Diamond Dancers line dancing team where she met so many great friends that truly enriched her life in retirement. She along with her line dance friends danced in numerous performances all over the B/CS area in retirement homes, at Aggie Basketball games, and numerous other venues. She also loved reading, gardening, puzzles, games, celebrating together, and cooking desserts and candies.

But most of all, Mary Jo was a devoted and loving family member who was a strong anchor in all our lives. She loved spending time with family and was always there lending support, love, advice, and understanding. She was our rock and helped our family create so many good times and memories together. We are so saddened to lose her, she will be so dearly missed, and our thoughts of her will be cherished always.

Mary Jo is survived by her daughter Linda Stoddard and husband Mark, daughter-in-law Jill Minnox, granddaughter Christie Ernst and husband Pauly, granddaughter Jennifer Villarreal and husband Michael, granddaughter Carrie Burr and husband Jason, granddaughter Lane Krenek and husband Cody, granddaughter Lara Stoddard and partner Tommy, great-grandson’s Dylan and Dalton, great-granddaughter Tristen, and brother William C.
