Mary Helen Ryan

Mary Helen Richards Ryan passed away on May 12, 2024. She was a cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be profoundly missed.

Mary Helen Ryan was born in Bryan, TX on November 10, 1936, to Claude and Verble Richards. In 2018, Texas A&M University presented her with an “Honorary Aggie Certificate” for her lifelong dedication to the Aggies, particularly through her enthusiastic support of the Aggie sports teams her family cherished.

Above all, Helen was a loving mother who treasured spending time with her five daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her daughters Lisa Ryan and Deborah Spain. She is survived by her daughters Patrice Rivers and husband Bill, Jamie Ryan Neff and partner Richard Wilkins and Aimee Davis and husband Jeff. Her legacy also includes her granddaughters, Sophia Beale and husband John, Leslie Rivers Dodd and husband Sean, Amanda Spain Norton and husband John, Heather Crow and Tyler Crow; grandsons Christopher Rivers and wife Andrea, Brett Neff and husband Lance Sanchez, Ryan Neff and Dakota Davis; great-granddaughters Reagan Norton, Ruby Rivers, Quinn Neff and River Dodd; and great-grandsons Skye Learie and wife Sparrow, Theo Oliver, Trey Neff and Waylon Norton.

A private memorial service will be held on a future date for family and close friends.
