Mari attended Miracosta Community College to where she received her Medical Assistant Associates degree. Mari and Donte met on Marine Corps base, Camp Pendleton, CA. where they were married May 4, 2002. Mari left her medical field to follow Donte around the country as a Marine Corps spouse. Mari and Donte were stationed all over together; including California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Okinawa, Japan, and College Station, TX. In College Station is where they finally retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years of service. Mari worked in a variety of different occupations including, Eternal Hills Funeral Home as a service director; a teller at Navy Federal Credit Union for 12 years, the Marine Corps Family Resource Officer for 4 years, and in her final years with Lance Snider’s State Farm. Mari’s greatest joy in life is her now 13-year-old son, Desmond. Mari loved animals and being a mother. Mari enjoyed reading Harry Potter books and helping Desmond with school projects. Mari was caring and always made snacks for Desmond’s football and track teams and events. Mari and Donte loved traveling and visited many different places both stateside and overseas with Desmond. Their most memorable trip was to Corpus Christi where she enjoyed visiting the USS Lexington in 2020 and 2021. Mari’s most recent trip was to the Houston Museum to see “Victoria”, a Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil. Mari was an excellent mother, wife, and a great friend. Mari was an angel sent to earth from the heavens and has returned back home to heaven’s gates. Mari’s smile and laugh touched everyone’s soul who she came in contact with. She will forever be loved and missed for eternity. AMEN
