Luis H Ayala

Luis H.  Ayala, 80, went to be with the Lord, on Monday, August 2, 2021, at 1:33 am he passed in peace, surrounded by his family. Born August 25, 1941. Happy Birthday Luis!

A Celebration of Life Memorial is scheduled for Tuesday, August 10th, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.

10 am Visitation, doors open for viewing.

11 am Service.

12 pm Burial at Bryan City Cemetery.

1  pm Reception, 80th Happy Birthday Celebration with Cake, at College Station Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

His parents Feliciana H. and Vincente Ayala.

Luis was born in Geronimo, Texas, The Hill Country. He was born and raised with his pass time at the river. At the age of 15 his friend brought him to Bryan, and Bryan became his home town.

Luis married and had two children, Louis Ayala Jr. and Irene Ayala. Luis was a great dad, he loved ball and he had Louie and Irene in Little League. He coached Louie’s baseball teams, and he coached Irene’s softball teams. A very proud father of his little girl when being awarded rookie of the year! With great summer Little League memories of watermelon and snow cones, and great vacation summers at Astroworld and Six Flags, and family motorcycle rides in the country.

Luis was employed at International Furniture for 30 years and later retired after working for the City of Bryan for over 17 years.

His legacy lives on through his daughter, Irene Ayala, granddaughter Ciara Ayala and Jeremy Spiess husband/grandson-in-law, many nephews, and the many other living relatives and friends whose lives he touched.

Luis loved sports! Gig’em Aggies! Aggie football, basketball & baseball.  The Cowboys, The Texans, Texas Rangers, The Rockets, & The Astros. Continuously playing backyard football with his son Louie and all his friends.

Luis loved motorcycles, motorcycle racing, motorcycle rallies, Christian motorcycle rallies, drag racing, car shows, demolition derbys and passed the love of cars and motorcycles on to his son & daughter, granddaughter, nephews, and many more. Any trip to Luis’ house resulted in a tour of all of his model cars he has on display. Luis was more than your all-around handyman, he could fix anything and everything with very clever and unique ideas. He loved Estate Sales! Car collection, Cap collection, T-shirt collection over 250+ t-shirts, DVD collection over 750 movies.

He was very giving & generous. As a long time member and Deacon of his church, Luis was faithful and loyal to the church landscaping on a continuous basis, hooking up his trailer to his truck and loading up his riding lawn mower, working from 7 am to 7 pm and returning the next day from 7 am to noon lunch. He loved his church and he did this as being a servant unto the Lord. He believed in giving to the church and giving to God. Luis faithfully honored to Keep the Sabbath Holy. He was very faithful to reading his Bible, Devotional Books, Christian TV,  Christian Music, & Christian Events.

Luis had a love for travel, traveling all over Texas, with his trailer hooked and his motorcycle loaded. Travels: Austin, San Marcos, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake, Gruene, Leakey, Houston, Dallas, Fort-Worth, Baytown, Corpus Christi, Galveston, and Galveston Motorcycle Rallies on The Strand! Crossing the Galveston Ferry over to Bolivar Peninsula and driving over to Crystal Beach. His most visited area was the Texas Hill Country. Luis loved cruising down River Road and all of The Hill Country on his motorcycle.

Swimming at Barton Springs in Austin, canoeing Barton Springs into the view of the downtown Austin skyscrapers. Picnicing at 5-mile dam. Riding the San Marcos Aquarena Springs Glass Bottom boat. Leading explorations into his self-proclaimed “Indiana Jones” forest at the beginning of the San Marcos River. Floating the San Marcos River along the Texas State University.

Camping in New Braunfels, floating the Guadalupe River Horseshoe and camping along the river at the Horseshoe. Floating the shuttes and enjoying the campfires at our campsite on River Road. Camping on River Road at Huaco Springs exploring Slumber Falls. Spending evenings in Gruene, antique shopping, ice cream at the General Store, dinners at Gristmill Restaurant, & Gruene Hall. Floating at Landa Park and going to Schlitterbahn. Floating the Blanco & Frio River. Best Memories! Riding in the back of the truck at the river. Tailgating & eating cold cuts, turkey & weenie sandwiches, chips & Root beer along the river. In Austin before the river, tailgating eating Jumbo Jacks! Lol 🙂 Thanks Dad! Thanks grandpa!

Luis traveled all over the United States. San Francisco, Pikes Peak, Colorado Springs, Niagara Falls, Canada, Las Vegas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Atlanta Georgia, Florida, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, New Orleans Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama. Vacationing Monterey Mexico, attending Mexico soccer game located in the view of the infamous “M” Mountain. Climbing the Grutas de Garcia mountain & entering the caves within.

He will always be remembered as a man who would help anyone, a man of service, and a man of the Lord. He lives in the hearts of his daughter and granddaughter forever!
