Lonnis Chargois, Jr., 64, of Bryan, TX passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, in Bryan, TX. Visitation will begin at 11am, followed by the Life Tribute Celebration with Military Honors at 12 noon at the funeral center. Inurnment will be private at the VA National Cemetery in Houston, TX.

Lonnis Chargois Jr. was born on the blessed Day of Christmas, December 25, 1957, to the late Lonnis Chargois, Sr. and Nita Richard-Chargois, in Lafayette, LA.  He was raised in New Iberia, LA and graduated from New Iberia Senior High in 1976. Lonnis joined the United States Army shortly after graduation. During his time in the military, Lonnis met and fell in love with his future wife Bridgett D. Gipson while they were both station at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. They were married in 1985 and started a life creating treasured memories with their children, family, and friends.  Lonnis retired from the United States Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class.  After the military, Lonnis briefly worked for UPS in Pocatello, ID. Lonnis moved his family to Bryan, TX., where he started working for Gooseneck Trailers Mfg. Lonnis worked for Gooseneck Trailer Mfg. for 21 years. The final position he held was Director of Safety. He enjoyed his time with Gooseneck Trailers, they always looked out for him and his family.

Lonnis loved all sports. His favorite team was the New Orleans Saints “Who Dat“.  Lonnis loved his family, friends, coworkers, and others enjoyed meeting him.

Lonnis is preceded in death by his father and mother, Lonnis Chargois Sr. and Nita Richard-Chargois.

Lonnis is survived by his wife; Bridgett Gipson-Chargois, his daughters; Tamya Hudson Chargois of Laurel, MS, and Britney Chargois of Bryan, TX; his brother Richard James Chargois, Sr. (Jean) of Lafayette, LA, three; sisters Judy Ann Chargois, Cynthia Marie Chargois, and Theresa M. Chargois of New Iberia, LA, his grandchildren; Dejah Hudson, Tyler McNair, great-grandson; Ashton Perryman of Laurel, MS and other relatives and close friends.
