Linda was a caring Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend. She left this world suddenly on November 12, 2023 at age 76.
Linda was raised in Omaha Nebraska by her loving adoptive parents Peter and Margaret Nicotero. After graduating from high school she married and raised her family across the US living in California, Texas, Alaska, Kansas, Oklahoma as well as her native Nebraska. She worked for many years for United States Civil Service and finished her career helping others while employed with Catholic Charities. Linda was an avid crafts person and reader. Her children spent many enjoyable hours perusing through local craft and bookstores with her. Working on ceramics and sewing were two of her favorite crafts. She enjoyed traveling, baking and preparing the family style Italian dinner on Sunday after Mass. She was a devout Catholic.
Later in life she discovered her birth family. Meeting her birth mother and sisters brought her peace and helped her understand her complex history. She developed a close bond with her Sisters and visited them in Iowa and Arizona getting to know their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister. She is survived by her ex husband Matias Serrata Jr, Sons Rene and Ronald Serrata, Daughter Antonia, Brother Michael, Sisters Sharon, Sheila and MaryLynn, 8 grandchildren and many great grandchildren along with nieces and many dear friends.
In the spring we will be hosting a Celebration of Life to remember her.
