Lance Jacob Hausenfluck, 40, of College Station, was called home to his Lord and Savior on June 14, 2024, in the comfort of his home. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, TX, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with interment immediately following at College Station Memorial Cemetery.
Lance was born June 8, 1984, to Terry & Dolleen Hausenfluck. He was baptized June 24, 1984, and confirmed June 13, 2004, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan, TX, where he was a member his entire life.
Lance married the love of his life, Megan, on January 22, 2011. He was an incredible husband. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Sadie and Mia. His young family was the center of his world. In his free time, you would find Lance spending time at the beach with his girls. They have been blessed with many memories and traveling adventures. Lance would provide a helping hand to anyone and was always prepared with a power drill, good drink, or a joke. His humor and witty remarks provided regular comedic relief among colleagues, family, and friends.
Lance graduated from Bryan High School in 2002. He showed livestock as a Bryan FFA member and held several offices including Chapter President and District Vice President. Lance earned his Lone Star and American FFA degrees. As a member of the Bryan High Viking Band, he excelled playing trumpet and twice had the privilege to perform in the National FFA Band. After high school, he became a member of Bryan Young Farmers and held several local and state officer positions.
He earned his Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scout 559 and bridged over to Boy Scout Troop 159 at the American Legion Post 159. He was an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow.
Lance graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2008, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business. Upon graduation, he was employed by the City of College Station in the Parks department for over 15 years. Lance’s work ethic was impeccable and his leadership was by example.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Megan, and two daughters, Sadie and Mia; parents, Terry & Dolleen Hausenfluck; brother, Heath (Carey) Hausenfluck, niece Kimber; sister, Terra (Wesley) Bissett, niece Audrey and nephew Wesley; grandparents Wallace & Mildred Froehlich; mother-in-law Donna (Mark) Parrott; father-in-law Bobby (Cathy) Englishbee; brother-in-law Damien (Kimberly) Tijerina, nephew Landon and niece Emmali; brother-in-law Brad (Suzanne) Englishbee, nephew Brady and niece Marie; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Lance is preceded in death by his grandparents Jacob and Yvonne Hausenfluck, Jr.
The family would like to thank the medical teams from MD Anderson Cancer Center, St Joseph Physical Therapy, and Brazos Valley Hospice who dedicated themselves to help Lance with his cancer battle. He fought a long and hard fight and never complained. The family also wants to thank Pastors Randall Bard and Tim Eden and the entire Bethel Lutheran Church membership for their prayers and support through this very difficult time.
Serving as pallbearers are Heath Hausenfluck, Wesley Bissett, Damien Tijerina, Justin Moore, Jason Johnson, and Andrew Jones.
