Karla Starleen Schultz

February 11, 1961 — January 23, 2025

Brenham, Texas

Karla Starleen Kuntschik Schultz, 63, was called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on January 23, 2025. Karla was born to Karl Jr. and Estha (Wiley) Kuntschik in Norfolk, Virginia on February 11, 1961. Karla spent her early years traveling with her parents and older brother to places that the Navy sent her father including living in the Bahamas. She always cherished her time home in Texas with her aunts, uncles and her cousins growing up. She returned home to Texas in 1977 where she lived in Gonzales, Caldwell and eventually settled in Brenham with her husband. Karla had three daughters that she gave birth to but also had three bonus daughters and a bonus son. On August 4, 1991, she went on a date with Kenneth Schultz and the two became inseparable until her untimely passing. Kenny and Karla were married on August 4, 2001, and together spent the years living as newlyweds each day. Karla enjoyed going to car shows, dressing in her vintage hats and dresses, concerts, animal charities and helping to run the Stray Katz Car Club. Most of all she enjoyed being with her husband and taking care of him, being a mom and a Nana. After her children grew up and left home, she enjoyed being in a Bunko group, the occasional bingo game, her weekly bowling league and monthly poker games with her friends. Karla was also a member of the Gay Hill VFD Ladies Auxiliary. She was the happiest when she could help others and was one to never turn down helping a charity raise money or working with various car clubs for show, fundraising or granting final wishes. Karla is survived by her husband Kenneth Wayne Schultz of Brenham, TX, daughters Jennifer (Mitch) Pratho of Navasota, Brandi (Will) White of Navasota, Misty (Jay) Armstrong of Paris, Barb (Josh) Shrout of Hutto, Kimberly Arbaugh of Ohio, Molly Schultz of Ohio and son Dylan (Bernadette) Schultz of Baton Rouge, LA along with 39 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Karl Kuntschik, Jr., Mother Estha Wiley Kuntschik, brother Michael David Kuntschik, brother-in-law Robert Schultz and granddaughter Karli Cheyenne White. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice in Karla’s name. A celebration of life is planned for March 8, 2025, at Overlook Park followed by Kruisin for Karla and a gathering of family and friends at Papi’s Icehouse.
