Juventino Martinez Sr., age 83, of Bryan, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022, in Houston.  He was born on January 21, 1939, in Yuriria, Mexico, to Ricardo and Soledad (Duran) Martinez. In December of 1961 he married Agustina Rojas in Reynosa, Mexico.  Juventino Martinez Sr. is preceded in death by his parents, wife , Agustina, daughter, Maria San Juana Vasquez, brother, Pablo Martinez, and sister, Lupe Carillo.  He is survived by his daughters, Yolanda Munoz and husband Camerino of Bryan, and Jessica Martinez and Robert Reyes of Bryan; sons, Ricardo Martinez and wife Christina of Bryan, and Juventino Martinez, Jr., and wife Linda of Bryan; sisters, Dolores Alverez and Teresa Ramirez, brothers, Israel Martinez, Antonio Martinez, and Juan Martinez, 15 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 26, starting at 5 pm, with a Rosary to be recited starting at 6:30pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at 10 am, at Santa Teresa Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.

Juventino worked as a supervisor of custodial services at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and Houston Astros baseball. He loved to attend party’s that celebrated his family. He Loved God and loved to listen to sermons and worship music. It gave him strength to get through his days especially these last couple of years. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. He truly impacted them all by being a great example of a what a husband, father, and grandfather should be like.
