Judy
Bratcher
January 4, 1964 – April 11, 2026
Judith Gay Bratcher, age 62, of Bryan, TX, passed away on April 11th, 2026.
Born on January 4th, 1964, in Lubbock, TX, to Arthur Don and Marisue Thomason, Judy grew up with a passion for music, education, and worship. She graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a degree in Elementary Education and Music and dedicated over 30 years of her life to inspiring young minds as a beloved classroom and music teacher.
Judy will be remembered for her boundless generosity, beautiful singing voice, and the light she brought to those around her. As an active member of First Baptist Church, College Station, she enriched her community by singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, leading children’s music programs, supporting Vacation Bible School, and serving on ministry teams.
Beyond her professional and church life, Judy cherished supporting her husband’s ministry at the Texas A&M Baptist Student Ministry, sharing her love of Aggie Basketball with her family, and singing with the Brazos Valley Chorale.
Above all, Judy was a devoted mother to her sons, Jordan and Jonathan. She is also survived by her loving husband, Joel; her brothers, Terry Don and Myles Thomason; and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Judy’s life will take place on April 17th at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, College Station, 2300 Welsh Avenue, College Station, TX 77845.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Texas A&M Baptist Student Ministry or the CSISD Fine Arts Department, both causes close to Judy’s heart.
