John Lynn Redman Sr. passed away on Monday, February 21st, 2022. lovingly surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his dad, JC Redman. He is survived by his mom, Shirley Redman; his two sons, John Redman Jr and wife Amanda; and Jarrott Olree and wife Candice; brothers Jim and Jerry Redman, and sister Nancy Dippel. John had eight grandchildren, Anthony, Kaylee, Hunter, Hanna, Karlee, Cassidy Carson, and Ashley. John had one great grandchild, Waylon.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at The Wellborn Community Center, March 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm
In 2000, John’s life changed forever after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. John was diagnosed for the second time in 2009. During this period, John was one of fifteen candidates given the opportunity to participate in one of the first trials for Autologous stem cell transplant, collaborated between Scott and White Hospital in Temple and MD Anderson. The Autologous stem cell transplant was successful for John, and he has worked closely with the Oncology Department at Scott and White hospital for the last 13 years, as research continues. John was always helping others, and lived by his own rules, never looking down on someone who needed help. John had a love for riding motorcycles, traveling, and spur of the moment adventures.
John was born on June 20,1958 in Bryan, Texas. He graduated in 1977 from A&M Consolidated High School. John was a natural when it came to woodworking and cabinetry. John spent most of his working years in both residential and commercial construction. The outdoors is where he found peace and solace both at work and in his private life. He had a love for spending time with his boys and close friends at his cabin where many adventures took place. John always looked forward to Bar-b-que’s with his dad.
John was a member of the Evergreen Baptist church in Keith Texas.
The family wishes to express appreciation to Chuck and Kim Shoemake for their kindness and support of John during his last month, and always as a good friend and neighbor. Also, thank you to John’s former wife Autumn for continued friendship and support with all of his medical needs.
