Joey Jay Hughes

July 21, 1970 — September 17, 2022

Joey Jay Hughes Sr. passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, Sept. 18, 2022, he was 52 years old. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Snook City Park, Snook Tx.
Joey was born in Austin, TX on July 21, 1970, to Paul Hughes and Linda Mushinski. His family moved to North Bryan at the age of 7 and has resided there since. Joey’s favorite pastimes included fishing, dirt-track racing, hunting, spending time with his family, and watching his children and grandchildren participate in go-cart racing, baseball, softball, football, wrestling, and rodeo. What he loved most was trying new food, BBQing, working on his truck and boat, and dropping a line in Matagorda Bay. Joey had a few different jobs along the way, including head maintenance professional in the apartment industry, owning and operating a lawn mowing company, and managing the “Hughes Factory”; but what he loved most was driving for Schlumberger. No matter where he went, he always made a new friend and was the life of the party. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He is loved by many and will be truly missed.
Joey was preceded in death by his father Paul Hughes, Stepfather Daniel Mushinski, Uncle Jack Hughes, and Aunt Angie Hughes. He is survived by his mother Linda Mushinski, wife Sarah Hughes, son Joey Hughes Jr. and spouse Ashley, daughter Harli McCoy and spouse Maurice, stepdaughter Ashley Bass and spouse Ryan, stepson Joseph Rives and spouse Kassidy, stepson Matthew Pierson, as well as his grandchildren Aaron, Ayden, Liam, and Lainey, sister Melinda Mushinski and spouse Chris, brother Shannon Mushinski and spouse Tammera, stepbrother Stephen Mushinski and spouse Sherry, stepsister Lori Mushinski-Ford, and many nieces, nephews, and “adopted” children and grandchildren.
The family has asks that you continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
